Dog, who eating grass is a common incident. It may be completely natural habit. Most of the veterinarians also consult as it is a normal behavior of your dog. There are many different reasons about why your dog is gazing your lawn or garden.

Some people believe that grass is a kind of self – medication of dogs. When your dog feels unwell by stomach problem he doesn’t eat the foods that you provided. Then he goes to the lawn and eats grass.

If you catch this incident then you can see after eating grass your dog extending its neck often and making swallowing motion and after that start to vomit.

After vomiting you can see your dog feels much better than before and your dog start to eat provided foods by you like usually.

It can gain fiber as nutrition to your dog. In some cases dogs are eating grass to pass time coz it feels boring.

They play with grass when they feel lazy. At that time you can be engaged with him to do some funny games and activities.

Sometimes your dog can develop a form of stereotype behavior and become fixated on grass chewing. But this situation is comparatively rare.

Dogs are more omnivorous than cats. So there is high possibility of them to eat grass as their foods if you miss to feed them on time. You may have to understand that eating grass by your pet dog is not an abnormal behavior. It is fully normal.

Veterinarians also said that the eating grass is not harmful for your dog. But it can be harmful according to your actions. It means if you apply some herbicides or pesticides in to your lawn, after eating grass this can be completely toxic to your dog and fall to danger.

Sometimes your dog can be died after chewing grass. So you may have to concern about this situation thoroughly and take immediate actions or you have to concern to not to apply any toxic and harmful herbicides and pesticides to your lawn.

You may have to think twice whether you want to protect your loving pet dog or your lawn. To protect your lawn you can go through the alternative methods that are not harmful to your dog.
